The AAO has developed a PowerPoint presentation, “Handling Orthodontic Emergencies in the School Clinic,” which is available to members at no charge. The presentation is intended for AAO members wishing to educate school nurses about the needs of students in orthodontic treatment. The presentation and accompanying script provide an overview of components of braces, address common minor problems with orthodontic appliances and list supplies needed to alleviate problems.
