Highlights and Details for Q4 and FY24-25 Available in Newly Released Dashboards

The AAO Advocacy and AAOPAC dashboards are now available for Q4 (March-May 2025) and the 2024-2025 AAO Fiscal Year (June 2024 through May 2025):

AAO Vice President of Advocacy Nathan Mick noted, “The combination of grassroots action by AAO members and their contributions to the AAO Political Action Committee (AAOPAC) remains central to our advocacy success in Washington, D.C., and across the country.

“Additionally, the AAO National Advocacy Network continues to advance our policy priorities in both the United States and Canada,” Mr. Mick continued. “The newly released AAO Advocacy/AAOPAC dashboards provide compelling, data-driven insights that highlight the impact of these important efforts.”

Dashboard highlights include:

  • Another record-breaking fundraising year with $477,515 raised for AAOPAC—surpassing last year’s all-time record and fueling AAO’s advocacy success in Washington, DC and across the states.
  • For the second consecutive year, AAOPAC contributors came from all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
  •  824 eligible members contributed to AAOPAC, representing 63% of our 1,303 aspirational goal and 5.5% of total eligible AAO membership.
  • AAOPAC earned national recognition, winning the Association Trends TRENDY Gold Award for Best Advocacy Campaign, for its 30th Anniversary campaign in 2024.
  • Over 5,000 grassroots actions were taken by AAO members for AAO policy priorities in the United States and Canada across all four quarters:
    Q1: 370, Q2: 1,550, Q3: 1,266, Q4: 1,949.
  • More than 20 states and Ontario were engaged by AAO Advocacy this year through proactive lobbying and defensive strategies.
  • Thanks to AAO Advocacy through AAO members grassroots engagement, five states in 2025 (Utah, West Virginia, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas) passed teledentistry laws with AAO model teledentistry language, requiring an in-person examination prior to orthodontic treatment for patient health and safety. (These successes brought the total to eight states with such requirements, including Nevada, Florida, and Illinois).

As the AAO continues advancing policy priorities in Washington, D.C. and across the states, consider supporting AAO Advocacy efforts. You can make your contribution celebrating AAO’s 125th anniversary at AAOPAC.org (using the email address associated with your AAO membership).

Together, our AAO grassroots network and AAOPAC supporters continue to make a lasting difference for AAO evidence-based policy priorities. Thank you!
