This innovative system prevents white spot lesions by utilizing light-activated antimicrobial foam to effectively kill bacteria which cause plaque and caries. The AAO carefully evaluated PhytoLight® prior to issuing its endorsement. A key component of this evaluation was the involvement of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation’s Rapid Assessment of Evidence Committee. This committee meticulously reviewed the claims and supporting research of PhytoLight®, concluding that preliminary experiments and clinical studies demonstrated promising results regarding the effectiveness and efficacy of light-activated PhytoLight® Foam.
