Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kevan O’Neill to the AAO Board of Trustees! In his new role, Dr. O’Neill will support the Board of Trustees in better reflecting the diversity of our membership and their interests, as well as improving the AAO’s ability to respond to external influences that are changing the orthodontic environment.

Dr. O’Neill was selected from a field of highly qualified applicants to become a Trustee At-Large and will officially join the AAO Board for a three-year term after the 2026 Annual Session.

“We’re so pleased to welcome Dr. O’Neill to his role on the AAO Board of Trustees,” said AAO President Dr. Steven Siegel. “We had many qualified candidates, and this was not an easy decision. Dr. O’Neill’s experience and leadership roles, plus his deep commitment to the AAO, the specialty, and our patients, will enable him to bring valuable insights to our Board. We’re excited to welcome his perspective and energy to the AAO Board.”

Meet Incoming Trustee At-Large Dr. Kevan O’Neill
“I’m enthusiastic about helping to shape the future of our profession,” says Dr. O’Neill. “I hope to bring insight and perspective from a young clinician who has experienced the specialty through many different lenses, from major hospitals, to small town private practice, and everything in between. The AAO serves members who work in all kinds of settings, and I feel proud to represent them in this role.”

Alongside his twin brother Brendan, Dr. Kevan O’Neill has been a partner at Orthodontic Associates of Northwest Ohio since 2017.

A board-certified orthodontist, Dr. O’Neill specializes in treatment of children with cleft and craniofacial conditions at Dayton Children’s Hospital and works with Shriners Ohio to provide treatment to families most in need. He became interested in craniofacial anomalies as an orthodontic resident at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and went on to complete a fellowship in craniofacial and special care orthodontics at New York University.

Dr. O’Neill earned his dental degree from Columbia University in New York, where he was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society and received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Dental Student Scholarship Achievement award. He completed his bachelor of science degree at the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.
