The AAO Consumer Awareness Program (CAP) is launching a new campaign. “Straight Answers, Bright Smiles” follows last year’s successful “Science of Smiles” series. Like Science of Smiles, the new campaign focuses on common questions from consumers and patients, based on searches on the AAO consumer website, Google, and Bing.

Straight Answers, Bright Smiles opens with two videos, with 16 more to follow in coming months. Each video in the series positions orthodontists as the ultimate authority in jaw alignment and the proper functioning of teeth, with the advanced training, experience, and treatment options needed to help patients achieve their healthiest, most confident smiles. 

Now available for viewing and sharing are:

“Consumers may not necessarily know that moving teeth is a complex biological process,” says AAO President Dr. Steven Siegel. “The Science of Smiles campaign is designed to raise awareness that orthodontic treatment is about more than just a beautiful smile — it’s about finding the right expert with the right plan to give you not just that beautiful smile, but also a foundation of health.” 

Additional Straight Answers, Bright Smiles videos will address diverse topics such as:

  • “How do braces straighten teeth?”
  • “What types of orthodontic treatment are available?” and
  • “What happens after I receive treatment?”
