The AAO has entered into an exclusive endorsement agreement with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC). The AAO negotiated the endorsement agreement to provide a unique value to members: Discounted access to an annual license to provide waiting patients and parents with entertainment content while remaining in compliance with the U.S. Copyright Act.
Showing movies, television programs, etc. in a commercial setting without an entertainment license can be an infringement of copyright law and could expose an orthodontic practice to substantial risk for a large penalty. The MPLC’s Umbrella License® covers this type of use.
