Dr. Lawrence “Larry” Wang will become the Middle Atlantic Society ofOrthodontists (MASO) representative on the AAO Board of Trustees, starting at the conclusion of the 2025 AAO House of Delegates meeting on April 27. MASO elected Dr. Wang as its incoming representative to the AAO Board, a role in which he will succeed current AAO President Elect Dr. Steven M. Siegel.

Dr.Wang is a partner in the Baltimore Orthodontic Group, which has five offices in the Baltimore area. He has served on cleft palate teams for both the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital, and is Board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

A graduate of the Northwestern University School of Dentistry, Dr. Wang completed the orthodontic residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers), while also completing the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Master of Science in Oral Biology degree.

Dr. Wang has spent much of his career in leadership and service roles with MASO and the AAO. He is a past MASO president and delegate from MASO to the AAO House of Delegates.

In Maryland, Dr. Wang has been a leader in orthodontic team education as the co-director of the Maryland Society Orthodontic Assisting Course. The course prepared dental assistants to become certified orthodontic assistants in practices throughout Maryland. Dr. Wang brought this expertise to his service on the AAO Task Force on Orthodontic Workforce and Distribution.

A past co-­manager and advertising editor of the MASO Journal in the journal’s early phase of development, Dr. Wang served on the AAO Practice Management Bulletin Advisory Committee and is currently a member of the AAO Council on Communications, which oversees the AAO Consumer Awareness Program (CAP).

An experienced media spokesperson, Dr. Wang has filmed public service announcements for the AAO and was interviewed for a satellite media tour. He has also been a guest on Baltimore-area radio and news programs, addressing questions about orthodontic treatment.

In addition, Dr. Wang has served as chair of the AAO Council on Information Technology (now Committee on Technology/CTECH) and was the co-chair of the AAO’s first ever Technology Conference in Las Vegas in 2008. He was the scientific co-chair of the 2018 Annual Session in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Wang is married to Dr. Jenny Wang, a dentist. The couple has two young adult daughters, Emma and Hannah. Active in the Greater Baltimore community, Dr. Wang serves as a speaker for a mentoring program for teen boys.
