Now, see a concise and thorough overview of all that happened on the AAO Advocacy front during the 4th quarter of Fiscal Year 2024. The 2024 Q4 Advocacy dashboard covers these items and more:
● In the final quarter of FY24, the AAOPAC broke the all-time fundraising record for a fiscal year by raising $473,942.89 from contributors in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and District of Columbia between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.
Additionally, congratulations to the Mayo Clinic Orthodontic Residency Program and the MedStar Washington Hospital Center Orthodontic Program for 100% participation in the 2024 Dr. Michelle Skelton Orthodontic Resident Challenge!
Thank you to each AAOPAC contributor for your support of the AAOPAC that helps to fuel our advocacy success not only in Washington, DC, but also in states throughout the country.
● At the state level, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 855 which includes AAO’s model teledentistry language, into law (including an in-person exam requirement).
● A very good teledentistry bill, SB2586 (for Illinois) also passed through both the Illinois Senate and House legislative chambers and now awaits the Governor’s approval.
● Workforce efforts continue in Michigan, New York, and North Dakota.
● Additional updates on AAO actions in Montana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and the District of Columbia.
