As part of a collaboration with business analytics provider, Gaidge, after each calendar quarter and full calendar year the AAO receives and shares with members key metrics compiled from a subset of Gaidge client practices. This subset includes:
● More than 300 single-doctor practices under $1 million in quarterly productivity; and
● More than 200 multiple-doctor practices with up to 10 locations.
The purpose of the collaboration is to aid members with assessment of practice health, short-term and long-term goal-setting and other key practice processes.
Q3 2024 Shows Growth in Several Indicators
Gaidge metrics for the 3rd quarter of 2024 brought good news with total starts growing 2.0% (single-doctor practices) to 2.3% (multiple doctor practices), as compared with 2023 Q3. This good news follows flat indicators, including starts, reported by Gaidge earlier in the year.
Based on the uptick in starts as well as growth in new patient calls, child and adult exams and case acceptance with only a slight decrease in aligner starts, Gaidge offers a cautiously optimistic outlook for the coming months.
Additional key metrics as compared with Q3 2023 include:
- Net production grew by 3.6% in single doctor practices and 5.3% in multiple doctor practices.
- Net collection increased by 3.2% and 4.2% in single doctor and multiple doctor practices, respectively.
- Child exams were up by .9% and 2.5% in single doctor and multiple doctor practices, respectively.
- Adult exams declined by -.2 in single doctor practices but increased 4.5% in multiple doctor practices.
- New patient calls increased by .8% in single doctor practices and 4.7% in multiple doctor practices.
