Milo Hellman Research Award Past Winners

NOTE: 

Research essay award so named since 1957. Prior to 1957, the Association records show that this award was referred to as the Research Essay Contest of the AAO. Each essay submitted must represent an original investigation and contain some new and significant material of value to the art and science of orthodontics. 

  • 2007-2010 Award is given for the basic science research paper of unusual merit related to orthodontics (BOT February 2006 meeting). The recipient of the Hellman Award is selected by the Council on Scientific Affairs. 
  • 2011- Award is given to the most outstanding and meritorious research paper of unusual merit, related to orthodontics. It will only be awarded when the research has achieved such a distinction (BOT April 2010 meeting).
