“The Inn at Little Washington has superb food,” says Dr. Maleki. “It is expensive, and it takes an hour and a half to get there from Washington, but it is worth it if you can fit it into your schedule and if you are seeking a very unique experience. If you prefer not to travel to eat, there are also wonderful restaurants in the Convention Center neighborhood and very close by. My favorites include Central (1001 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest), which has excellent food and fair prices. Le Diplomate on 14th Street is also a very good option.”

If you have not yet made hotel reservations in Washington, the first step is to check your registration confirmation for a link to discounted housing options in the AAO hotel block. Note that the AAO works exclusively with OnPeak for Annual Session housing. Other hotel booking companies sometimes say that they work with the AAO, but that is not the case.

Those preferring luxury hotels should note that these hotels are not included in the AAO hotel block; however, there are many such hotels in Washington. For those who prefer them, options include the Hay-Adams Hotel, the St. Regis, the Watergate, Mandarin Oriental and the Trump International Hotel.
