Maame Afon brings expansive and diverse experience to supporting leaders and organizations to get unstuck, unleash their potential and maximize their impact. Maame is a space holder for people to heal – she helps to create brave and safer spaces to navigate difficult conversations. She believes that untold stories perpetuate the cycle of oppression. By the same token she acknowledges that brave spaces are critical to uncover the hidden things that prevent us from living our best lives.
As an internationally recognized thought leader and a passionate advocate for women and girls, she brings over 17 years of experience to leadership development, impact coaching, philanthropy, and expert facilitation. Maame Afon has leveraged her years of experience, principles of intersectionality and her passion for transformative leadership, women’s rights and philanthropy for her career and board service with several international organizations, inclusive of Global Fund for Women, African Women’s Development Fund-USA, We Care Solar, Street Business School, and Nurturing Minds/SEGA. She has collaborated with institutions such as the World Bank, the United Nations Federal Credit Union, Janian Medical, World Connect, US Department of State (International Visitor Leadership Program), MasterCard Foundation, and How Women Lead to deliver leadership training and impact coaching. She currently serves as a Chief Guide for Chief, a private membership network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.
At the core, Maame Afon is a connector and consummate networker who also enjoys being a mother, mentor, activist and recording artist who uses “wholesome music” to promote social change and philanthropy. All these parts that make the whole woman she is, led to her work at MILT (Management for Impact Leadership and Transformation) where she serves as founder and chief steward.
