Humanitarian Award

Description

The Humanitarian Award recognizes significant contributions to improve the quality of human life that extend beyond the usual scope of private practice, academic functions or organized dentistry.

Any AAO member, AAO constituent or component organization, or WFO-affiliated organization is eligible to nominate an AAO member in good standing for the AAO Humanitarian Award. A nominator is limited to one Humanitarian Award nomination per year. Posthumous nominees must have met the criteria for the award (see below).

To nominate a colleague for the AAO Humanitarian Award, compile:

  • A letter of nomination signed by an AAO member. The letter should cite the nominee’s qualifications referencing the award criteria listed below;
  • A second letter of supporting documentation from an individual who is not the nominator. This individual does not have to be an orthodontist;
  • A third letter supporting the nomination from the nominee’s component orthodontic organization.

Submissions are due by March 31, 2024.
