The AAOPAC Board Race to 10 challenges each Constituent Region to reach 10% member participation in AAOPAC giving between June 1 and December 1, and the competition is already heating up.
As of July 14, the SAO, led by AAOPAC Chair Dr. Ed Davis, has claimed the early lead, with GLAO, led by Dr. Scott Schulz, and SWSO, led by Dr. Jeffrey Genecov, close behind. The leaderboard is tight, and the standings could change at any moment. Which Constituent Region will be the first to cross the 1% participation milestone before the end of July?
Every contribution helps move your region up the leaderboard and one step closer to victory.
The Race to 10 is about participation. Whether your contribution is large or small, every donor strengthens the voice of orthodontics and demonstrates our profession’s collective commitment to advocacy. Throughout the campaign, standings will be updated regularly to fuel friendly competition, with bragging rights and the coveted traveling Race to 10 Trophy awaiting the winning Constituent Region.
Why Your Participation Matters
The decisions made in Washington, D.C., and the states affect every orthodontic practice and their patients. From workforce challenges and student debt to patient protections and scope of practice, advocacy is essential to protecting the future of the specialty.
AAOPAC ensures orthodontists have a strong, unified voice in those conversations. Your support helps advance advocacy efforts on issues including:
- Addressing workforce shortages
- Advancing solutions for student loan debt
- Protecting patients from the risks of direct-to-consumer orthodontic treatment models
- Defending orthodontists’ ability to provide high-quality patient care
- Advocating for orthodontists as healthcare providers and small business owners
AAOPAC is the only political action committee dedicated exclusively to representing orthodontists and their patients. Through its bipartisan approach, AAOPAC builds relationships with lawmakers who champion the AAO’s priorities and help advance policies that strengthen the future of the specialty.
Help Your Region Climb the Leaderboard
The race is just getting started, and every contribution brings your Constituent Region one step closer to 10% participation. Whether you’re helping your region take the lead, close the gap, or become the first to reach the next milestone, your participation makes a difference.
