The AAOPAC Board set fiscal-year goals of raising at least $460,000 and engaging 1,303 unique contributors. The Race to 10 challenge continues through December 1, encouraging each Constituent Region to reach 10% member participation in AAOPAC giving.
As of October 21, MASO continues to lead the Race to 10 with 3.1% member participation, under the leadership of AAOPAC Board Member Dr. Douglas Harte. RMSO is in second place at 2.6%, followed closely by SAO at 2.4%. With the competition continuing through December 1, there is still time for every region to gain ground.
Across all eight Constituent Regions, 290 members have contributed $116,329, bringing overall participation to 2.0%. Every new contributor helps move their region closer to the 10% goal.
The Race to 10 is about participation. Whether your contribution is large or small, every contributor strengthens the voice of orthodontics and demonstrates our profession’s collective commitment to advocacy. Standings will continue to be updated throughout the campaign, with bragging rights and the coveted traveling Race to 10 Trophy awaiting the winning Constituent Region.
Why Your Participation Matters
Decisions made in Washington, D.C., and state legislatures affect orthodontic practices and their patients. From workforce challenges and student debt to patient protections and scope of practice, advocacy is essential to protecting the future of the specialty.
AAOPAC helps ensure orthodontists have a strong, unified voice in those conversations. Your support helps advance advocacy efforts on issues including:
- Addressing workforce shortages
- Advancing solutions for student loan debt
- Protecting patients from the risks of direct-to-consumer orthodontic treatment models
- Defending orthodontists’ ability to provide high-quality patient care
- Advocating for orthodontists as healthcare providers and small business owners
AAOPAC is the only political action committee dedicated exclusively to representing orthodontists and their patients. Through its bipartisan approach, AAOPAC builds relationships with lawmakers who champion AAO priorities and help advance policies that strengthen the future of the specialty.
Help Your Region Climb the Leaderboard
With the December 1 deadline approaching, every new contributor can make a difference in the standings. Whether your region is defending its lead, closing the gap, or working toward the next participation milestone, your contribution brings it one step closer to 10%.
