Mental Well-Being Screeners
Understand the state of your own mental well-being
Assessing your current risk for common conditions can be an important part of caring for your mental wellness. Screening tools provide a valuable initial assessment and can serve as a gateway to identifying support resources and potential need for further evaluation. To get “officially” diagnosed with a mental health condition, you’ll need to have a conversation with a mental health professional. They can pick up on things that simply don’t come through in an online test.
The AAO Mental Wellness Task Force has vetted a variety of screening tools and recommends the following two reputable, online, confidential and free screening tools: Well-Being Index for Dentists and Mental Health America’s collection of screeners.

Well-Being Index for Dentists
The interactive online tool allows dental professionals to anonymously measure their well-being in less than one minute, compare their scores to peers’ and national averages, and track their progress over time.
