The AAO reported earlier this week that there were complications with our plans to host Annual Session 2022 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Six weeks ago, the State of Hawaii informed the AAO that a significant amount of space inside the Hawaii Convention Center would not be available to groups (including ours) through the end of 2022. And while we know many members and their teams were looking forward to the trip to Honolulu, we are simply unable to deliver an experience that meets our high standards under these restrictions.
In just a few short weeks AAO Leadership and staff have been able to find and secure a new location that meets all of our requirements – a task that typically takes months to complete and often occurs 9 or 10 years in advance.
We can now confirm that the city of Miami Beach has rolled out the red carpet and stands ready to greet AAO members May 21-24, 2022. With a rich history, a culture of hospitality, and beautiful white sandy beaches, Miami Beach is sure to deliver an extraordinary meeting experience.
After two all-virtual Annual Sessions, we wanted to be sure that 2022 would be the year that our members could celebrate together again. It’s been more than 50 years since the AAO has been hosted in Miami. As usual, attendees will enjoy 3 and a half days of the best orthodontic education available. But, attendees will also get to experience the conference as they never have before: network with colleagues on the beach, get a taste of Miami, spend an evening with suppliers, and explore a new destination when you register to attend the post-conference event.
All of this and more awaits attendees of the 2022 Annual Session next May, in Miami Beach!
